Lakeside Energy is assembling, through development and acquisition, a portfolio of traditional and renewable energy assets with geographic and fuel source diversity. Lakeside Generation will be comprised of a portfolio of power generation assets.
The firm’s first investment was to acquire a 100% ownership interest in a 150 MW natural gas-fired peaking power plant in Hazleton, Pennsylvania that supplies electricity to the Pennsylvania-Jersey-Maryland (PJM) regional transmission organization. Lakeside Hazleton LLC is an important facility in the transmission-constrained Eastern zone. PJM’s RPM process provides secure, mid-term predictable capacity pricing. Since the facility was acquired by Lakeside Energy from Williams Company in 2008, the firm has invested significant capital to refurbish these assets to increase the performance and reliability of the power plant.
The firm's second investment was to aquire a 100% ownership interest in two combined cycle power plants in upstate New York. The Lakeside Syracuse and Lakeside Beaver Falls facilities were formerly owned by Integrys Energy Services. The Syracuse plant has a rated capacity of 109 MW. The Beaver Falls plant has a rated capacity of 95 MW and also provides process steam to two neighboring paper facilities.
Lakeside Generation is guided by a dedicated team of personnel with extensive experience acquiring, operating, financing and optimizing energy asset.
